New Delhi: Despite not having played international cricket for quite some time, star all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is still harbouring dreams of playing for India.

Talking to a leading English news channel, now out-of-favour southpaw claimed that he is focussing on domestic circuit to improve his chances of donning the national colours again.
“I am playing domestic cricket and hope to make a quick comeback to the Indian team. Next two months are very crucial for me,” Yuvaraj said.

Once regarded as one of the most dangerous batsman in limited-overs cricket – thanks to his raw batting power, more than handy slow bowling, and of course live-wire fielding – Yuvraj failed to make national cut since the South Africa series last December. A series of poor form has forced the selectors to snub him.

The 32-year-old also clarified about a recent report which discussed the chances, or the lack of it for a comeback in the national side. “I never said that I won’t play for India in the World Cup. I am definitely looking forward to play in the WC,” he clarified.

Affectionately known as “Yuvi” to his fans, he was one of the stars of the Indian team which won the 2011 World Cup at home. And he is still confident of doing well in cricket’s biggest stage, if given a chance.

“I can’t speak on the WC selection. But if I get an opportunity I will look to do well,” he said.

Yuvraj will feature for Punjab in their Vijay Hazare Trophy quater-final match against Railways starting November 21 at Vadodara. They topped the North Zone with three wins and two losses from five matches.
