Wenger refuses to rule out bidding for Suarez in Jan transfer window
London – Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly refused to rule out making a new bid for controversial Liverpool striker Luis Suarez ahead of the January transfer window.
Suarez was subject of two bids from Arsenal over the summer, after he asked to leave Liverpool in order to play Champions League football, although both offers were rejected and the striker eventually stayed put.
However, Metro.co.uk reports that Wenger has ignited speculation by refusing to rule out a future bid for Suarez, with the Frenchman saying that although he is not making anything public, he can see that Suarez is doing very well for Liverpool at the moment.
The report mentioned that Wenger has already confirmed his intention to spend big in the new year, with cash set to be available if Arsenal do pursue an offer for the striker.
According to recent financial results, the club has around 65 million pounds in spare money for transfers – more than enough to lure Suarez who has been valued at around 45 million pounds, the report added.
