Man U’s Ryan Giggs may extend career beyond 1000-club appearance mark
London – Manchester United veteran Ryan Giggs has said that he has set his sights on notching up 1000 appearances for the club before he retires.
According to Metro.co.uk, the Welshman, who played his 954th match for United in Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Cardiff, turns 40 later this week, but has already made 11 appearances for David Moyes’ side this term.
Despite his advancing years, however, Giggs refuses to rule out reaching the astonishing milestone of 1000 appearances before he finally hangs up his boots, the report said.
He said that he has not thought seriously about it but if it comes, it would be great.
It is likely Giggs will need to continue until at least the end of next season to reach the landmark figure, the report said.
Former teammate Phil Neville has backed the Welshman to keep going, the report added.
