New Delhi: MSM Satellite Pvt. Ltd, which owns Sony Six, the authorized broadcaster for Fifa World Cup 2014, on Friday moved the Delhi high court contending its exclusive rights to stream matches of the tournament on the internet are being infringed by certain websites. A bench of justices Siddharth Mridul and Sunita Gupta listed the matter for hearing on 23 June after the petition was brought before it by advocate Saikrishna Rajagopal. Multi Screen Media (MSM) is an Indian company which was formerly Sony Entertainment Television India Pvt. Ltd. MSM is the authorized broadcaster of Fifa World Cup 2014 in the Indian subcontinent and holds exclusive rights for telecast as well streaming the matches. The counsel sought an early listing of the matter on the ground that several websites are interfering with its rights and “with each passing day, I (MSM) am suffering”. The tournament, which started in Brazil on 12 June, is scheduled to conclude on 13 July.
