Australian batsman Shaun Marsh hit his hand during net-practice for the Boxing Day Test and was led away by the team doctor as the cricketer became the latest injury scare for the hosts.

However, Marsh returned a few minutes later in an attempt to fight through the pain after he was hit on the left glove by a rising delivery from tall fast bowler Josh Hazlewood.

Marsh ripped his glove off and concerned team doctor Peter Brukner immediately escorted the left-hander into the dressing rooms for assessment, News.com.au reported.

There reportedly appeared to be a red mark on Marsh’s left hand, which is his bottom hand when batting.

Meanwhile, there is some relief for the Australians as David Warner seems to be batting well, a sign his thumb won’t keep him out of the third Test and Shane Watson is also training and appears fine following Monday’s bouncer scare.

Ryan Harris is charging in as he aims to return from a quad strain and Mitchell Starc has also shaken off a knee injury and is bowling in the nets, the report added.
