Minorities vote for change of power in Sri Lanka
A majority vote of the minorities made Maithripala Sirisena the new President of Sri Lanka. Tamils and Muslims who felt alienated in president Rajapaksa’s tenure have high expectations that are going to be very tough for Sirisena to fulfil without inviting criticism of minority appeasement from the majority Buddhist Sinhala community.
