Is the task of regularising slums and illegal colonies achievable?
We visit a congested unauthorised colony in South Delhi to witness the difficulties the residents go through to get basic facilities. We see that the houses are all tightly packed with very narrow alleys separating them and are shoddily constructed atop one another. An expert helps us understand several complexities that would arise in attempts to regularise them. Can facilities such as underground water supply and sewage be set up in such congested localities? Will residents be given ownership of the land they have constructed houses on? We try to find out on this episode of Prime Time. (Audio in Hindi)
