Former cop Nirmal Singh on how he towed away Indira Gandhi’s car
Nirmal Singh, retired assistant commissioner of police, says Kiran Bedi was a “good boss” and “will make a good chief minister.” Mr Singh recently hit headlines as the man who did what made Kiran Bedi an urban legend with the epithet “Crane Bedi” – 32 years ago he towed away then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s car. Mr Singh was a sub-inspector then, Ms Bedi, a deputy commissioner of police, was his boss.
