Army honours Colonel MN Rai, killed in Kashmir a day after being awarded gallantry medal
The army today honoured Colonel Munindra Nath Rai, who died fighting terrorists in Kashmir on Tuesday, 24 hours after he was awarded a Republic Day gallantry medal. Colonel Rai, 39, is the highest-ranking military officer to be killed in the region in nearly a year. A wreath-laying ceremony was held for him in Srinagar on Wednesday.
