Brainstem Implants Help Deaf Children Hear

Deaf children who can’t use the older technology of cochlear implants might be helped with a brainstem implant, according to research presented Friday at a conference in California. A 3-year-old girl is now able to detect sounds and speak. (Feb. 13)
