The leading Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has thrown a challenge before the Indina smartphone makers. It is a tough challenge that the local brands like Micromax, Xolo and Karbonn will find hard to respond.
The company has launched three handsets in different categories and there is no denying the fact that the Indian smartphone manufacturers have no answer to respond. The company has priced the three handsets lower compared to the handsets launched by the Indian companies and compete with handsets launched by international companies. These handsets don’t look like the cheap rip-off of those pricey handsets launched by the likes of Apple, Samsung, HTC or LG. these handsets are trendsetters and compete with those companies in European and north American markets besides of course the Chinese market. The Chinese smartphone giant that is expected to sell as many as 70 million smartphone in this fiscal year alone has introduced three handsets in the Indian market. These include Xiaomi Mi3, Redmi 1S and Redmi Note. The cheapest is priced at Rs 6999 exactly the same price that Motorola sells its Moto E and the best at Rs 13999.
The Xiaomi Mi3 smartphone has been priced even lower than expectations. We were expecting it to be priced above Rs 15000, but the company amazed everyone by pricing it at just Rs 13999. This handset has premium looks with its aluminum-magnesium alloy frame with 3 layers of thermal graphite.
The handset not just looks premium it also comes with premium specs and features.
