Washington – A new password app has been reportedly developed that uses face-recognition technology to let users manage their multiple passwords easily.

Security expert Jeremy Rose has developed the FaceCrypt password app that uses the face identification technology.

Survey by Symantec revealed that around 70 percent of people admitted having forgotten at least one password in the previous month, leading to a frenzied search for password managers, New York Post reports.

Tech and password expert Bruce Marshall said that face-recognition based password apps have lot of opportunity today, and easy access to cameras, touchscreens and microphones will push the industry forward toward biometic and alternative authenticators.

The FaceCrypt app costs 5 dollars and 7 dollars for the version having icons.

For added security, the app also prompts users to blink to avoid someone using a photograph to access the stash.

The report said that the FaceCrypt app can store personal data like credit cards numbers and passport data, as well as secret documents, picture and videos apart from just the usual passwords.
