Washington – Google is reportedly in talks with an eyewear company to explore the idea of creating prescription lenses for its hi-tech wearable computing eyewear Google Glass.
The gadget is being currently tested by a group of Google Glass Explorers who have been experimenting with the numerous ways the gadget can be put to use.
According to AllThingsD, the search giant is exploring ideas with at least one eyewear company to put the device in optometry offices around the country and create alternative designs.
A New York-based company, Rochester Optical, has also announced launching a special prescription lens add-on for the Google Glass in January 2014.
Google Glass is priced around 1,500 dollars a piece, and has been embroiled in controversies for its potential misuse for criminal purposes.
