Sonia takes pot shots at Modi, says he sold fake dreams
Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday took pot shots at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying fake dreams were sold by individuals who laid out a trap. She also said the present NDA government is implementing UPA government’s policies.
“We did so much work during UPA regime. Still some individuals laid out a trap in which people got stuck. Fake dreams were sold,” she said.
“Who started toilets construction under MNREGA? Who strengthened anti-rape laws? Who started self-help groups? All this was done by Congress-led UPA government. The current Government is re-implementing our policies,” she added.
Calling for better representation of women in Parliament, she said Congress was committed to the cause and would pressurise the government to pass the Women Reservation Bill.
“Rajiv ji always wanted 33% Reservation for Women in Parliament and Assembly. Some parties opposed it so we couldn’t get it passed. Even if we are in opposition now, we will not rest until we get the Women Reservation Bill passed in Parliament,” she said.
