Manmohan Singh is the super PM, not my mother: Priyanka Gandhi reacts to statement made about PM

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, currently managing the campiagn of her brother, Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi in Uttar Pradesh, retaliated to the claims of former PMO advisor claimed that Singh was “object of ridicule” under the “super PM” Sonia Gandhi.

She stated to a leading news channel, “’Manmohan Singh was the super PM, not my mother.” She further went to defend Sonia Gandhi’s emotionally charged appeal where she warned against the divisive tactics being utilised against her – referring to it as an ideological battle for the nation. Gandhi’s speech was called ‘a desperate attempt to reach out to the people’ by BJP candidate Arun Jaitley on his blog.

Post the release of Sanjaya Baru’s book accusations against Manmohan Singh and his alleged lack of effectiveness as Prime Minister have been taken up by a BJP leaders as they claim that it ‘confirms what the nation already knew’, referring to the decline of Singh’s public image due to his inaction toward A. Raja’s arrest as well as subsequent arrests and scams.
