New Delhi – Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nalin Kohli on Monday criticised Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, saying the latter should allow for the completion of the legal process in the Adarsh Housing Society scam, rather than making statements of and on about it.

“In the letter which Arun Jaitley has written on the Adarsh report, he has clearly stated it as a manufactured dissent. If Congress vice president is so concerned about corruption, then, he should unsure that the legal process in the case should be completed,” said Kohli.

On December 27, in a press conference, Gandhi, when asked a question about the Maharashtra Government’s decision to reject the report on the Adarsh Housing Society scam had said that it was his personal opinion that the ruling on the report needed to be revisited, and was all for action to be taken against those indicted.

“There is no question of protecting anyone or anybody in connection with the Adarsh Housing Society scam,” Gandhi had said.

Kohli further said, “But then the question is what action will be taken against the Home Minister? So, it is better to let the law take its own course, because the Adarsh issue will not be resolved by making statements.”

On Law Minister Kapil Sibal’ recent comments on BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, he said “the law minister should know that the decisions of the courts in this country are based on facts and evidences. They are not based on your emotions and opinions. Kapil Sibal is constantly raising questions on Modi, so, it is evident that he is questioning the entire judicial process.”

In an article published in his website, Sibal stated: “Modi’s riots baggage will remain. It is too late for him to express that he was shaken to the core. Had that been so, the core would have reacted in time, not a belated reaction just before the Lok Sabha elections.”

“It seems as if he (Sibal) wakes up every morning scared since there is an environment of power change in the country. Plus the Congress was decimated in Delhi in the recent assembly elections, particularly in his Chandni Chowk constituency. So, that’s why he is making hasty statements and we sympathies with him,” he added.

On Congress leader B.K. Hari Prasad comparing Modi with Ugandan dictator Idi Amin, Kohli said, “The only example till date of dictatorial mindset and sought of dictatorship was the imposition of Emergency by Indira Gandhi in 1975. I think the Congress leaders particularly Prasad should seriously reflect on this because post and after the Emergency period, there has been no example of dictatorship in this country.”(ANI)
