Arvind Kejriwal: BJP Delhi chief Satish Upadhyay must explain his ties with power discoms
NEW DELHI: AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal said on Wednesday that BJP leaders must come clean on their ties with power suppliers in Delhi.
“BJP had promised a reduction of 30% in electricity bills, but it raised it twice,” Kejriwal said.
Addressing a press conference in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal said that BJP’s Delhi unit chief Satish Upadhyay owns companies which installed and replaced electricity meters in Delhi.
“BJP’s Satish Upadhyay and Anil Ashish Sood are shareholders in six companies. One of them had been providing services to BSES. Services include installation of meters. This company had been awarded by Reliance for being one of its best vendors,” the AAP leader said.
“Upadhyay needs to clarify whether this company even supplies meters and if so, where these meters are being sourced from and for how much,” Kejriwal said.
Kejriwal further quipped: “Will Satish Upadhyay, as the leader of opposition, obstruct audit of electricity companies?”
