Spot admission for tribal students in Wayanad
The Wayanad district administration has drafted an action plan to ensure admission of tribal students to higher secondary schools in the district.
The plan is aimed at ensuring admission for all tribal children who have passed the SSLC examinations to higher secondary schools, District Collector Kesavendrakumar said.
He was attending a meet of higher secondary school principals, National Service Scheme programme officers, and senior officials of the Tribal Development Department here on Friday.
Admission camps
Mr. Kesavendrakumar said special spot admission camps would be conducted in each taluk on September 18. Government Higher Secondary School, Mananthavady; SKMJ Higher Secondary School here; and Government Sarvajana Higher Secondary School, Sulthan Bathery, were identified as centres for the purpose.
Principals of government and aided higher secondary and vocational higher secondary schools would attend the camp and ensure spot admission to all tribal students who reached there, Mr. Kesavendrakumar said. Students and their parents should report to the camp before 10 a.m. with original certificates.
