Segmented approach to tackle terrorism will not work: India at ASEM
Gurgaon – Speaking during a closed door retreat session of the ASEM, India’s External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid on Tuesday is reported to have described terrorism as one of the foremost concerns of the international community
According to sources, Khurshid, in a intervention, emphasized that international terrorism continues to grow in sophistication and reach, “confronting many of our countries as a transnational menace”.
“All terror is unacceptable and must be tackled comprehensively,” Khurshid reportedly told delegates .
According to sources, the External Affairs Minister also impressed upon the international community that segmented approaches on tackling the menace of terrorism would not work.
India has reportedly also conveyed to the ASEM that the International community must increase the effectiveness of collective action to counter terrorism and ensure zero tolerance.
Khurshid told participants that there is a need for concerted and cohesive global action against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
