Sachin writes to Maha CM on toll problems in Mumbai
Mumbai: Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar has written to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis about the “physical and mental toll” on the commuters due to toll tax.
In his letter, sent to Fadnavis on February 20, Sachin expressed his concern about the “state of affairs concerning the operations of toll gates” around Mumbai.
The letter, written on his Rajya Sabha letterhead, said: “I would sincerely request you to kindly reconsider the model of operations to reduce the physical and mental toll on citizens who travel in and out of Mumbai.”
The government should see to it that commuters are not inconvenienced, he said.
Meanwhile, reacting to Sachin’s letter, public works minister Chandrakant Patil told reporters here today that the government has taken note of Sachin’s views and is working to provide relief to commuters.
