Nation ‘won’t tolerate negative politics’
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday backed former law minister Dr. H.R. Bhardwaj’s criticism of the Congress High Command and said that this has exposed the negative politics of the grand old party.
“What Mr. Hansraj Bhardwaj has said about the Congress Party is, something, widely known to the people of this country. Congress’ negative politics is installing Parliament and addressing press conferences over petty issues has actually caught the attention of the people. I think the people of the country want the government at the Centre, and also the opposition, to fight on issues that concern the people,” BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao said.
“The honourable Prime Minister is taking this country forward with massive initiative like ‘Digital India’ which was launched in a big way at the national level, with more than lakh crore of investment or budget. People of the country want government to focus on governance and the Congress is trying to divert the attention of the public, the media and even the government, by raising non-issues that people will not tolerate,” he added.
Congress loyalist Bhardwaj, in an interview to a leading English newspaper, criticised the party’s high command and questioned whether its vice-president Rahul Gandhi had any inclination towards leading it.
