Two troopers and two women were injured on Monday as Pakistan Rangers opened fire at Indian positions on the international border in Jammu district, an official said.
Police sources told IANS here that two Border Security Force (BSF) troopers — Head Constable Sunil Kumar and Constable Bishnoi — were injured when the Pakistani army resorted to unprovoked firing at four places in the R.S. Pura area.
Pakistan Rangers on Monday resorted to unprovoked firing at Indian positions on the international border in Jammu district, an official said. “Pakistan Rangers fired at the Johra Post, Nowa Pind, Jogna Chak and Tent Post,” a police officer said. “The firing began at around 4.15 a.m. local time and it is still on,” the officer said.
“BSF retaliated Pakistan firing effectively,” the officer added. The Pakistan Army had violated ceasefire on the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar area of Poonch district on Sunday. The LoC in Jammu and Kashmir is guarded by the army while the BSF guards the international border here.
