Digvijay Singh files petition in SC seeking CBI probe into Vyapam scam
The Congress leadership has demanded a Supreme Court-monitored CBI inquiry into Madhya Pradesh’s Vyapam scam after the official count of accused in the case who died in mysterious circumstances has touched twenty five even as the unofficial count puts it much above. AICC General Secretary Digvijaya Singh has moved the Supreme Court with a Public Interest Litigation which in addition also demands empowering of the state High Court-appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT) and accusing the state government-appointed Special Task Force (STF) of conducting a biased probe.
Addressing a press conferene, Singh said, “it is now clear that a nexus between CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s office officials and STF is working to suppress the real truth and shield the powerful hands behind the multi-crore recruitment scam. Therefore, I have moved the SC with a PIL” Singh said while officially more than 25 accused died in mysterious circumstances, the state administration was trying to brazen it out by calling them as natural deaths.
