Confident people will give Congress a majority in MP: Scindia
Gwalior – Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia said on Monday that he is confident about his party getting a majority to form the next government in Madhya Pradesh.
“I have full confidence that people will vote for us, and that the Congress will form next government,” he said.
“A good percentage of voters are casting their votes. Elections are always competitive, and you can never take them lightly,” he said.
“We have gone to the people with our agenda, and I am sure people will give us a chance. In a temple of democracy, the will of the people is most important, and that is what we will abide by”
Polling in 227 assembly segments began at 8 a.m. and will continue till 5 p.m., while for three constituencies in Naxal affected Balaghat District, it began at 7 a.m., and will end at 3 p.m. this afternoon.
More than four crore sixty-four lakh voters will decide the fate of 2,583 candidates, including 200 women candidates.
Meanwhile, 552 companies of security forces and more than 40,000 home guard jawans have been deployed for smooth conduct of polls.
Two helicopters are maintaining a vigil Balaghat and Singrauli Districts.
