Women satisfied with body image have happier relationships
New York – Being in a happy relationship is linked with a better body image, a study has revealed.
According to the study, women who are happy with their body image are more likely to be in happy romantic relationships whether or not they were at their “ideal” weight, and vice versa, the New York Daily News reported.
Women who are satisfied with their body weight also had higher self-esteem and lower self-consciousness.
Study author Sabina Vatter of Tallinn University said that the study has revealed that our satisfaction with body size, shape and weight has more to do with how happy we are in important areas of our lives, like our romantic relationships.
The findings were presented at the Annual Conference of the British Psychological Society’s Division of Clinical Psychology.
