Its official! Men and women’s brains are wired differently

Washington- A new brain connectivity study has found striking differences in the neural wiring of men and women which justifies some of the commonly-held beliefs about their behavior.

The Penn Medicine brain imaging study has shown a stark difference in the architecture of the human brain that helps provide a potential neural basis for the different cognitive strengths in men and women.

According to the study, greater neural connectivity from front to back and within one hemisphere is visible in males, suggesting that their brains are structured to facilitate connectivity between perception and coordinated action.

In contrast, the wiring of females brain goes between the left and right hemispheres, suggesting that they facilitate communication between the analytical and intuition.

The research has revealed that men are better at learning and performing a single task at hand as they have an efficient system for coordinated action, while women have a “mentalistic approach” as they have a superior memory and social cognition skills, making them more equipped for multitasking and creating solutions that work for a group.

The study was published in the Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences .
