Brain zapping may control scary dreams

According to the researchers, stimulation can allow recognizing and controlling the dreams, which is a state of lucid dreaming. The scientists also found that applying appropriate amount of electric currents to a person’s scalp, the sleeper can help manipulate their dream”s plot and control their behaviour within the dream, the Guardian reported. Professor J Allan Hobson, from Harvard Medical School said that it is amazing to see that scalp stimulation can influence the brain in such a way that the sleeper or the dreamer becomes aware that they are dreaming and can direct them according to their wishes. Hobson further explained that the study can play a vital role in psychiatric research and he would be careful while interpreting the results because it can have direct significance in the treatment of medical illnesses, but it is definitely a step forward in understanding how the brain manages to hallucinate.
