Former Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf wants treatment in country of his choice
Former Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf has expressed his will to get medical treatment of his choice in another country, citing the findings of his medical report which shows serious illness.
The report prepared by the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) warned that it can be quickly life-threatening in the event of destabilisation, particularly under stress or during a coronary intervention, the Express Tribune reports.
Meanwhile, the doctors said that a coronary angiogram is required urgently to ascertain the need for more medical procedures.
However, public prosecutor Akram Sheikh requested the court not to announce its decision on the report, expressing serious reservations over the findings, and suggested that an independent medical board comprising the country’s top five cardiologists should be asked to file a separate report.
The court has adjourned the hearing till January 29, the report added.
