Kerry likens Kim Jong Un to Saddam Hussein
Washington – United States Secretary John Kerry has said that the purge and execution of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s uncle was similar to the actions taken by slain Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.
In an interview with Martha Raddatz of ABC’s for “This Week,” Kerry said Kim’s actions of executing his uncle were an “ominous sign of the instability” in North Korea.
Kerry said it reminded him of a video of Saddam Hussein doing a similar thing, with people sitting and watching there, sweating, but nobody daring to move or do anything.
Kerry said that the actions taken by Kim showed his truly ruthless and reckless nature, and showed how insecure he is about the internal instability of his regime.
This shows how erratic Kim is, still worried about his place in the power structure and maneuvering to eliminate any potential competitor, he further said.
