ASTER and AKMG launch Scholastic Awards to young achievers
DUBAI- Aster, a part of DM Healthcare, the leading healthcare conglomerate in the Middle East and in India, has announced launching an annual regular Scholastic Award programme. The awards will recognize achievers of the highest aggregate marks in Garde-12 final examination in their respective streams across the UAE schools.
The Scholastic Awards has been instituted, in tandem with the Association of Kerala Medical Graduates (AKMG), with the aim to motivate students of the high academic calibers and promote higher education on a social empowerment platform. The ongoing awards programme, to go along with ASTER-AKMG Scholastic Day every year, will encourage students who showcase outstanding performance in the final academic year at the higher secondary school level. The Day has been conceptualized to provide a motivational platform for every participating student to energize them for scaling great heights in their personal and professional life. The inaugural cycle of the ASTER-AKMG Scholastic Awards were presented recently at ceremony held at Rashid Medical Library Hall with in Rashid Hospital in Dubai.
Eligible toppers from different schools in the UAE received the awards and certificates. The students were selected purely on merit basis, considering the highest aggregate marks scored in their respective streams during the academic year. HE Khaled Al Kamdah, Director General-Community Development Authority (CDA), was the Chief Guest at the ceremony. He said, “This award programme will highlight the hopes and aspirations of our children, showing themselves how they feel and contribute to a better world.
It will also inspire them how to think, believe and desire for a bright future for them and the entire world.” He also urged the doctors’ community to extend their support for the benefit of differently-abled children in the UAE. Commenting on launching the scholastic awards, Dr. Azad Moopen, Chairman and Managing Director of DM Healthcare, and Founder President of AKMG, said, “We are setting an example by expressing our commitment to foster academic excellence in the growing generation.
Today’s children are the citizen of tomorrow. They outline the future of the human kind and reflect the progress of the world.” Dr. Moopen also congratulated winners of the awards and advised them to spend a portion of their time for social activities, because lending a helping hand to the needy will make life more meaningful. “My message to this bright group of children is to study hard and achieve greater heights in life. Never give up at any stage, because if you keep on taking efforts, you will surely succeed one day.”
Dr. Sirajudeen PM, President-AKMG , said, “Our objective to create the awards is to identify the big achievers and recognize their efforts, encourage and motivate them further to their next level of education. The awards will honour these students for accomplishing academic brilliance at school level annually.” A ‘Career Guidance Symposium’ has also been organised on the sidelines of the Scholastic Day programme, featuring eminent motivational speakers who addressed the student community representing various schools as well as children of members from both the organisations.
