Tokyo – A 5.5-magnitude quake hit Japan’s Ibaraki prefecture Sunday morning, according Japan’s Meteorological Agency. There were no immediate report of any loss of life or damage to property.
The temblor, which struck at 7.38 a.m., had its epicentre about 50 km northeast of Tokyo and a depth of 70 km. It was registered lower 5 at Japan’s seismic intensity scale of 7, with strong tremor felt in Kanto area, including Tokyo, Xinhua reported.
Also, no tsunami alerts were issued.
