13 killed in Iraq violence
Baghdad – As many as 13 people were killed and 48 suffered injuries in different incidents of shootings and bombings in Iraq Sunday.
At least six people were killed and 27 wounded in three bomb attacks Sunday in the Iraqi capital city, a police source said.
A car bomb detonated in Baghdad’s al-Ghadier district in which two people were killed and nine wounded, reported Xinhua citing the source.
A civilian was killed and 11 people were wounded in another car bomb which went off at a commercial street in the capital’s Sadr City district, the source said.
Three people were killed and seven injured when a roadside bomb ripped through Baghdad’s southwestern suburb of Radhwaniyah, the source added.
Earlier in the day, the police said nine people were killed and 21 wounded in shootings and bombings, including two suicide attacks, across the cou! ntry.
Iraq is witnessing its worst eruption of violence in recent years. According to the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq, almost 7, 000 Iraqis were killed and over 16,000 injured from January to October this year.
