The teaser of Tubelight, directed by Kabir Khan, and starring Salman Khan and Zhu Zhu in the lead roles, is finally here.

Perhaps, there can not be a better and more successful writer-director combination in Bollywood right now than Salman Khan and Kabir Khan.
Kabir Khan who comes from the world of documentaries had his first box-office hit with the 2009 political thriller New York. He began working with Salman Khan for the first time on Ek Tha Tiger. That film turned out to be the biggest hit of the year.
They next collaborated on the 2015 film Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Salman Khan, in a rare occasion, did not play an ultra-macho, altruistic hero but a genial, naive do-gooder. Salman’s character clicked with the audience and today, Bajrangi Bhaijaan is one of the biggest blockbusters of all time.
Now, Salman Khan and Kabir Khan are back with Tubelight, a feel-good drama set in the backdrop of the 1962 Indo-China war, a setting that has rarely been explored in Indian cinema. In Tubelight, Salman Khan plays a mentally dim character (hence called ‘Tubelight’) whose brother gets lost across the border during war. The rest of the story involves how Salman Khan’s character crosses the border and battles all odds to rescue his brother.
The Tubelight teaser was finally released by the film’s makers yesterday. The teaser gives a glimpse into the kind of world Kabir Khan has established in his film. Salman Khan, obviously, is prominently featured in the teaser. Chinese actor Zhu Zhu who makes her Bollywood debut in the film is also seen. However, Sohail Khan, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub or Shah Rukh Khan (playing a cameo) are not seen in the two-minute-long Tubelight teaser.

Perhaps, they will feature in the trailer. For the moment, the Tubelight teaser has got one and all talking. Tubelight is scheduled to release on June 23 this year.
