Engineering counselling in Tamil Nadu to begin on July 7
CHENNAI: The engineering counselling in Tamil Nadu, coordinated by Anna University, will begin on July 7, a press release from the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions committee said.
The students are being informed about the rescheduled dates through short message service (SMS).
The complete revised schedule of the counselling with the date and time for each cut-off mark will be updated on the TNEA website soon.
The single window engineering counselling was to begin on June 27. But it was postponed a day before its scheduled beginning, after the Supreme Court directed the All India Council for Technical Education to complete the approval of 521 pending engineering colleges across the country in seven days.
Nearly 1.73 lakh students have applied for counselling this year. The schedule for the counselling, according to the orders of the apex court, were to complete in two phases by July 15.
The classes will have to begin on August 1 and no seat will be allocated after August 15 in any engineering college in Tamil Nadu through the single window counselling.
