Indrani Mukherjea claims she met a woman prisoner who told her she had met Sheena Bora in Kashmir, according to the letter sent directly to the CBI. “She wrote to the CBI, we have no details of what she wrote,” said her lawyer Sana Khan.
New Delhi: Jailed former media executive Indrani Mukerjea, accused of killing her daughter Sheena Bora in 2012, has written to the CBI claiming that she is alive and has asked for an investigation, adding a new twist to the sensational case. Indrani Mukherjea claims she met a woman prisoner who told her she had met Sheena Bora in Kashmir, according to the letter sent directly to the CBI. “She wrote to the CBI, we have no details of what she wrote,” said her lawyer Sana Khan.
Indrani Mukherja, 49, has been imprisoned in Mumbai since 2015. She was arrested for the murder of 25-year-old Sheena Bora, the daughter of her first marriage.
Three months after her arrest, her husband, Peter Mukherja, was also arrested on charges of aiding her Indrani.
Investigators say Shina Bora was killed by Indrani Mukherja with the help of her driver Shyamvar Rai and her second husband, Sanjeev Khanna. The reason
Indrani did so was because, according to investigators, Sheena was angry with Sheena about her relationship with Rahul Mukherj’s son Peter Mukherj from her previous marriage.
CBI also reported that Sheena Bora threatened to expose her mother after a financial dispute between them. After the murder in
, Indrani told her friends that Sheena, who had known to the world that she was her sister, had moved to the United States. The
murders surfaced when driver Indrani Mukherjee was arrested in a separate case. According to the
driver’s testimony, Shin-ah’s half-burnt body was dug up in a forest near Mumbai.
At the trial that began in 2017, about 60 witnesses recorded their testimony.
