4 Indians abducted in Libya, IS involvement suspected
Four Indians have allegedly in Sirte, Libya, according to TV reports.
The Islamic State group, IS, is suspected to be responsible for the kidnapping.
The Indians were teaching at the university, says NDTV, quoting the ministry of external affairs.
“No ransom demand has been made yet. We are trying to ascertain their whereabouts,” said foreign ministry officials.
Sources say the area from where the Indians were kidnapped is under the control of the Islamic State, which has captured large swathes of Iraq and Syria and has declared itself a caliphate.
