With new brand launched, Xolo mulls to invest Rs 100 cr in next 18 months
Xolo, the sub-brand of the Lava International, is mulling to invest Rs 100 cr over next 18 months on development of its proprietary software, Hive, which is built on Google’s Android OS.
The smartphone major has said they have invested Rs 100 so far and will invest the same in near future.
Xolo launched its first smartphone under sub-brand Black, priced at Rs 12,999. The brand aims to sell around half a million units of the new smartphone.
The brand will spend over Rs 60 cr on market and promotion. The new smartphone has latest versions of Hive UI, built on Android Kitkat OS.
The mobile brand will use Rs 30 cr in various ATL activities. The company is mulling to launch Black range every quarter under Rs 20,000.
The new device includes 5.5 inch, dual rear camera module of 13MP and 2 MP, Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor, 2GB RAM with 3,200 mAh battery. The handset is 4G enabled with 16GB internal memory.
