Rajnath Singh asks students to use knowledge for benefit of society
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday asked young graduates to use knowledge in a positive manner to the benefit the society.
Delivering the convocation address at the Jaypee University, Singh said, “You have education, you have knowledge. But having knowledge is not everything. The knowledge can be used both positively and can be misused. Those youths involved in terror activities are not illiterates…There are lot of terrorists who have good knowledge of technology, they are highly educated. But they are not using their knowledge in positive direction, they are using it in negative direction.”
“Every student should realise that knowledge, when used positively can benefit the society, but when used negatively can harm the society,” he added.
Rajnath Singh also told the students to have pride in all Indian languages.
“English is the leading language on the internet. I do not have anything against English, but we must have a sense of pride for our languages, we must be proud of our languages. I am not talking about Hindi, but about all the Indian languages. We should have a sense of pride towards all the Indian languages,” Singh said
The Home Minister also said that youth should not be under the impression that all the scientific knowledge came from abroad and pointed out that India has been a leader in science and mathematics since Vedic times.
