In what could send chills down one’s spine, a Burmese woman, who resided in Saudi Arabia, was publicly beheaded in Islam’s holy city of Mecca on allegations that she had killed her stepdaughter, reports stated on Saturday.

In a video which was posted on YouTube, Layla bint Abdul Mutaleb Bassim was seen being dragged through the street while she was screaming ‘I did not kill. I did not kill.’ She was later beheaded by a sword in three blows.

However, the video was later removed by YouTube as part of its policy on “shocking and disgusting content”.

According to The Independent, she was convicted of the sexual abuse and murder of her seven-year-old step-daughter. She had beaten her stepdaughter to death with a broomstick.

Yesterday some reports claimed that Saudi Arabia beheaded one of its citizens for shooting dead a compatriot with a machine gun, officials said, bringing to 10 the number of executions in just over two weeks.

Murdi al-Shakra had been tried and sentenced to death for murdering fellow tribesman Faraj al-Shakra, the interior ministry said in a statement carried by the official SPA news agency.
