Education vital to shaping a child’s future, says Saina
Youngsters and kids are doing well in the sports circuit and representing our country in various games. I am happy that the number of people taking part in sports and making it their career is on the rise,” Saina said on the sidelines of the inauguration of Herbalife Magic Bus India Foundation partnership to provide education to 3,000 underprivileged children.
She said people from villages and underprivileged background were talented and their potential needed to be tapped.
Former athlete Ashwini Nachappa said sports should become a part of the academic programme and corporates should support sports activities.
About 3,000 underprivileged children across Bengaluru, Chennai and Pune will be part of the development programme.
Also, about 150 children and 25 youths will be given support to train and excel in football under the Magic Bus India Foundation’s Sports for Excellence programme.
