A headless body of a man chopped into two pieces was recovered from Southeast Delhi’s Ambedkar Nagar area on Sunday morning. While the torso was found in one gunny sack, the lower part of the body was found in another nearby. The head has not been found, police said.
A case of murder has been registered at Ambedkar Nagar police station and an investigation has begun. The gruesome discovery was made by a businessman who spotted the gunny sack lying in front of his shop Sunday morning. He opened the bag to check what was the source of the foul smell and, to his shock, found the torso inside. He then called the police.
“Just meters away, another sack was found behind a parked Omni van. When a team of policemen checked the bag, they found the lower half,” police said.
No documents that could lead to the body’s identification were found from the spot.
