Will Harsh Vardhan play a big role in Delhi assembly elections?
New Delhi, Nov 11: With the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) now gearing up for the Delhi Assembly elections, BJP too has pulled up its socks. Reports suggest that senior BJP leaders directed the Delhi unit of the party to begin preparations for elections. Amidst all this one question arises, who is going to be the face of BJP in Delhi? Reports suggest that Harsh Vardhan may be the face of the Delhi BJP for the assembly elections, which are likely to be conducted early next year. On Sunday when Harsh Vardhan was handed over a relatively low profile ministry during the Cabinet reshuffle (Harsh Vardhan was given the Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Ministries) it was assumed that the party wanted him to play a bigger role in the Delhi Assembly elections.
Some even say that he could be projected as the BJP’s chief ministerial candidate. Keeping in mind his victory in the Lok Sabha elections in May and his clean image, he may be the right choice to go ahead with as the CM candidate. He even gave a tough competition to his competitors Kapil Sibal (Cong) and Ashutosh (AAP) in the Lok Sabha elections. BJP is hopeful of winning the assembly elections and is banking on AAP’s failure in Delhi and Narendra Modi’s image for the same.
