In a series of tweets, Kejriwal alleged that the L-G would be encouraging horse trading by inviting the BJP as the party lacks majority in the house and would have to poach on MLAs from the opposition to be in a position to form the government. Even AAP leader Manish Sisodia came forward and questioned Narendra Modi, “Want to ask Modi on what grounds BJP will form Govt in Delhi when they still dont have the nos?.” Prior to this, Kejriwal had claimed that the BJP was trying to buy Congress MLAs after failing to buy AAP MLAs post elections.

He had tweeted: ‘After failing to buy any AAP MLA, BJP now trying to buy 6 Cong MLAs. Price Rs 20 crore each, 2 ministers and 4 chairmen’. Kejriwal who was former Delhi chief minister demanded that the L-G should first seek a list of MLAs supporting the BJP. He also alleged that Majeeb Jung would be removed if he doesn’t agree to toe the BJP line on the matter. He clearly stated other leaders who had lost their positions under alleged pressure when they refrained from toeing the line. After Kejriwal quit over Lok pal issue, President’s Rule was imposed in Delhi on February 17.

Senior party leader and MLA from Janakpuri Jagdish Mukhi is believed to the frontrunner for the CM’s post as reported by news agencies.

The BJP had won 31 seats in the assembly polls in December last year but its strength came down to 28 in the 70-member house after three of its legislators Harsh Vardhan, Ramesh Bidhuri and Pervesh Verma were elected to Lok Sabha. BJP’s ally Akali Dal has one seat.

Congress MLA Haroon Yusuf, however, accused the BJP of spreading rumours and said there was no split in the party.
