Taliban claims responsibility, says 25 officers were killed; Defence Ministry claims killing 11 Taliban fighters in an airstrike

At least four soldiers and 11 militants were killed in separate incidents in Afghanistan, officials said on Wednesday.

A suicide bomber blew himself up next to an Afghan Army bus early Wednesday in a western area of Kabul. Four officers were killed and five injured, security officials said.

Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack and said that 25 officers were killed.

It was the first such attack recorded during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

The Defence Ministry said 11 Taliban fighters were killed in an airstrike in Jorm district of the northeastern province of Badakhshan.

Separately, a NATO soldier died “in a non-battle injury in eastern Afghanistan,” the international military said.

It did not reveal the deceased soldier’s nationality or the exact location of the incident on Tuesday.
