The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Monday filed the second supplementary charge sheet in the July 13, 2011 triple blasts in the city. The 542-page charge sheet has been filed against mastermind Yasin Bhatkal alias Mohammed Ahmed Siddibapa and Asadullah Akhtar Javed Akhtar alias Haddi.

Statements of 59 witnesses have been recorded in the charge sheet.

“We have filed the charge sheet in the designated MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) court today. With this charge sheet, the case against all the accused has become foolproof,” Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam told The Hindu.

Sources told The Hindu that the charge sheet was based on the CCTV evidence of the accused planting bombs at different locations. 27 people had died and 127 were injured when three bomb blasts took place at Zaveri Bazaar, Opera House and Dadar in 2011.

“We have direct, technical evidence against the accused. They have been seen planting the bombs,” a highly placed official told The Hindu.

According to the charge sheet, the ATS has recovered two duplicate keys of Activa scooter and one duplicate key of the lock of a flat in Habib building in Byculla. The first batch of accused were claimed to be arrested from this flat in Byculla under the nose of the ATS headquarter. The ATS had claimed that the accused had assembled the bombs in this flat.

The charge sheet also states that the agency recovered two stolen Unicorn motorcycles and its duplicate keys; a plastic bag containing black-coloured sticky powder, used clothes, computer set, cotton swab, receipt of a medical fitness centre. They have also recovered a DVD containing the photograph of Aasdullah.
