After assuming charge, Pradhan told reporters that his focus would be to meet the expectations of the poor and middle-class people of the country. “India needs to reduce import dependence and secure energy needs, so that it becomes self-reliant,” he said. Pradhan said the Indian economy has an important role in the world economy, and he would endeavour to contribute to this effect. The Rajya Sabha member from Bihar said he would consult senior colleagues in the Government and formulate holistic policy in tune with the guidance and vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
People of the country have large expectations from the new Government and this Government is dedicated to the welfare of the poor. Earnest efforts will be made to bring the economy back on track of progress and development, he added.
