Cricket Association of Bihar (CAB) Secretary Aditya Verma on Friday said the court will give its views on issues related to an appeal made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the return of audio tapes containing conversations of N.Srinivasan, IPL CEO Sundar Raman and Indian cricket captain M.S. Dhoni on April 16.

“As you know, the BCCI has filed an application that they needed Dhoni, Sundar Raman and Srinivasan’s audio and visual statements, which they made in front of the (Justice Mukul Mudgal) commission. Our counsel, senior advocate Ajit Sinha, raised an objection that technically the BCCI secretary doesn’t have any right to say anything on behalf of them through an affidavit. The judge said that he will not go into technicalities. Our counsel also said that whatever materials are there, should be made available to us in an envelope as well,” Verma said.

“In the mean time, the Mudgal Commission secretary said whatever demands have been made, these materials are with him, and that it is not in a sealed envelope. So after listening to all the arguments, the judge fixed the next date of hearing for April 16,” Verma added.

The Justice Mukul Mudgal-led committee, which was appointed in October 2013 by the court, had recorded statements made by Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Board president and CSK owner N. Srinivasan and Indian Premier League Chief Operating Officer Sunder Raman.
All three of them had deposed before the commission headed by Justice Mukul Mudgal. The panel after its investigation had submitted a sealed envelope to the two-judge Supreme Court bench on February 10 that contained many allegations of sporting fraud.

Verma stated that his counsel also raised the issue of stopping Srinivasan from attending the ICC’s Executive Board meeting in Dubai , to which the judge said that he will hear it on April 16th itself.
