Kawasaki launches Z1000, Ninja 1000 in India
New Delhi – Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Kawasaki has launched two premium bikes in India–Z1000 and Ninja 1000.
The bikes have been priced at Rs 12 lakh each (ex-showroom Delhi). The company has launched two other premimu bikes in India this year–Ninja ZX-14R and ZX -10R.
Both the Z1000 and Ninja 1000 are powered by a 1,043 cc four-cylinder engines. These two models will be imported as completely built units from Japan and will be retailed through the existing standalone showroom of Kawasaki in Pune and in Delhi.
The two bikes have liquid-cooled DOHC 16-valve in-line four engine with digital fuel injection. The engines maximum power of 142PS of at 10000rpm and maximum torque of 111Nm at 7300rpm.
Both the bikes have fully adjustable twin spar cast alloy frames. The bikes also boast horizontal layout mono-shocks at rear.
With the two new launches, Kawasaki will now sell six models in India. Already, the Ninja 300 and Ninja 600 are sold at the Probiking showrooms of its Indian partner Bajaj Auto. These models are priced between Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.
India Kawasaki Motors will expand its business territory in a phase-wise manner. With its focus on Maharashtra and NCR; the expansion will follow in the rest of the country, the company said.
