Sensex trades flat during pre-noon session
Mumbai – A benchmark index of Indian equities markets was trading flat at 68.42 points or 0.32 percent up during the pre-noon trade Monday.
Good buying was seen in capital goods, banking index (bankex), metal and consumer durables sectors, while selling pressure was seen in IT and technology, media and entertainment (TECK) sectors.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 21,080.54 points, was trading at 21,148.14 points in the pre-noon session, up 68.42 points or 0.32 percent from the last trading day’s close at 21,079.72 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 21,207.89 points, and a low of 21,080.54 points during the trade so far.
The S&P BSE capital goods gained 157.33 points, bankex increased by 143.74 points, metal index augmented by 126.44 points and consumer durables index gained 106.19 points. However, IT index dropped by 84.21 points and TECK index slipped by 34.75 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading flat at 27.40 points or 0.44 percent and was trading at 6,301.65 points.
