Google banishes `inadvertently` introduced privacy feature in Android
Washington – Google has reportedly removed a hidden privacy feature from its latest Android version, which allowed users to more tightly control which personal information could be accessed by applications.
The company has indicated that it had inadvertently included experimental code within Android 4.3 that enabled it, AllThingsD reports.
Google said that the feature’s removal was necessary for app stability.
According to the report, some third-party developers managed to create apps that exploited Google to allow users to revoke certain permissions for individual apps.
Android 4.4.2 also has a setting that would remove all such controls installed by the users, the report added.
